Tõnis Jakob

Tõnis Jakob is a Senior Tax Manager of Marisett OÜ.

Tõnis has a Master’s degree in Economics from Tartu University (“cum laude” in 1974). He has worked for Ministry of Finance (Head of department of taxes and state revenues), National Tax Board (Deputy Director General), Ernst & Young (senior tax manager and sworn auditor) and KPMG (senior tax manager), totally more than 39 years´ experience in taxation.

Tõnis has considerable experience in both Estonian and international taxation as well as tax planning of various transactions.

He has a long-term experience in participation in tax reviews and tax audits, as well as consulting merger, division, restructuring and liquidation of the companies and sale of business. He has also participated in tax and financial due diligences of several companies.

He has also cooperated with Ministry of Finance in preparation of tax legislation.

Tõnis Jakob is a lecturer at numerous public trainings and seminars in the field of tax and accounting and has been a taxation teacher in the universities.

He was a sworn auditor from 1994-2017 and has been a member of the Estonian Board of Auditors (1994 – 2008).
